September is GYN Cancer Awareness Month. The CanSurvive GYN Cancer Support Group, the Laura Crandall Brown Ovarian Cancer Foundation and the Norma Livingston Ovarian Cancer Foundation have worked together to encourage teal lightings across the state. This effort, called “A State of Teal” is an initiative to raise awareness to the signs and symptoms of GYN  cancers.

In conjunction with A State of Teal, the Battle House Tower and Trustmark Buildings in Mobile will be lit in teal on the evening of Thursday, September 18. In addition, Mobile Infirmary locations in the Mobile and Baldwin County areas are lighting their facilities in teal for the entire month of September. These buildings join over 80 other facilities and municipalities across the state in this historic observance of GYN Cancer Awareness Month.
